Uber for phone repair shops: courier pickup and return with Uber Direct
A repair shop can send an Uber courier for a customer's phone by connecting its own Uber Direct business account to its STACKS website. The customer books and pays for the courier at checkout, the driver brings the device to the shop, and the shop sends it back with one tap when the repair is done.

For phone, tablet and computer repair shops. This is courier pickup for the devices your customers bring you, not car repair for rideshare drivers.
How Uber pickup works for a repair shop
- The customer books on your website. Device Delivery appears at checkout on your STACKS website, with a live courier price for their address. They pay upfront, on your own branded checkout.
- An Uber driver collects the device. From the customer's home or office, with a photo and a signature at pickup, and brings it to your shop.
- You repair it. The trip shows live in The STACKS App on the order, and you get phone, desktop and browser notifications at every step.
- You send it back with one tap. Or the customer picks it up in store. The customer chooses, and pays upfront for the trips they chose. The person receiving the device gives a PIN.
What your customer sees
Your shop, not a courier app. A live 3D map tracker on your own website, in your logo colours, follows the trip through every stage:
- Booked
- Driver on the way
- Picked up
- On the way
- Delivered
It shows the driver's first name, car, plate and position. Texts and emails come from your shop, each with a link to the tracker, so the customer never has to call to ask where their phone is.
Why repair shops use Uber Direct instead of their own driver
| Option | What it costs you | What the customer gets |
|---|---|---|
| Your own driver | A person and a car, whether there is a job or not | Whatever tracking you build yourself |
| Mail-in with a label | A label per job | Packaging, a carrier drop-off and days in transit |
| Uber Direct with STACKS | Free for STACKS shops; the customer pays the delivery fee at checkout | Booking at checkout, a live map on your site, a photo, signature and PIN at the handoff |
How to set up Uber Direct for your repair shop
- Open an Uber Direct business account. Open your shop's own business account at direct.uber.com and add a card. Uber bills that account per trip, and your customer pays the delivery fee at checkout.
- Connect Uber in The STACKS App. Go to Account, Shipping Integration, Uber. Paste the three keys from Uber Direct (Developer, API Keys), switch on Repair, Buyback or Ecom, and turn on notifications.
- Connect Stripe. In The STACKS App, go to Account, Payment Integration and connect Stripe, so customers can pay for trips.
- It appears on your website. Once all three are done, Device Delivery appears on your STACKS website by itself.
Price: Free for every STACKS shop. Your customer pays the delivery fee: the live courier price shown at checkout. You can add your own markup.
Where it works
Coverage is Uber Direct's local delivery area around your shop. Customers inside it see Device Delivery at checkout.
Beyond repairs
The same Uber courier also runs buyback pickup and local delivery for online stores. Everything in the feature is on the Device Delivery via Uber page, and the repair website it runs on is the Repair Stack.

Questions shops ask about this
Can a repair shop use Uber for pickup and delivery?+
Yes. A repair shop can connect its own Uber Direct business account to its STACKS website, and its customers book an Uber courier at checkout. The driver collects the device from the customer's home or office and brings it to the shop. When the repair is done, the shop sends it back with one tap, or the customer picks it up in store.
What is Uber Direct?+
Uber Direct is Uber's delivery service for businesses. A shop opens a business account at direct.uber.com, adds a card, and Uber bills that account per trip.
How do I connect Uber Direct to my repair shop website?+
In The STACKS App, go to Account, Shipping Integration, Uber. Paste the three keys from Uber Direct (Developer, API Keys), switch on Repair, and turn on notifications. Connect Stripe under Account, Payment Integration so customers can pay for trips. Device Delivery then appears on your STACKS website by itself.
Who pays for the Uber courier?+
Your customer does. Device Delivery is free for every STACKS shop, and the customer pays the delivery fee: the live courier price shown at checkout, upfront, on your own branded checkout. You can add your own markup.
Can my customers track the Uber driver?+
Yes, on your own website. A live 3D map tracker in your logo colours shows every stage (booked, driver on the way, picked up, on the way, delivered) with the driver's first name, car, plate and position. Texts and emails come from your shop with a link to it.
How is the phone protected at the handoff?+
The driver takes a photo and a signature at pickup, and the person receiving the device gives a PIN.
How far will the Uber courier go?+
Coverage is Uber Direct's local delivery area around your shop.
Does it work for buyback and online orders too?+
Yes. Device Delivery via Uber is live for every STACKS shop in Repair, Buyback and Ecom: sellers sell their phone without leaving home, and local online orders are delivered to the door.
